Chetpet Eco Park

Chetpet eco park

Chetpet Eco Park located near Kilpauk. We went for a boat ride there, but we found that there were a few more attractions within the campus.

There is an entry ticket of Rs.25 each. Camera and Food are not allowed inside the park. We have to handover those at the ticket counter.

There is a small eatery near children's park. We can have some corn, chat or some other snack. In the front yard there is a larger food court having both Vegetarian and Non vegetarian food. We found Pizza, Ice creams and few Chat item also.

We found many 3D paintings there and sculptures of a few birds and animals too. You can take pictures using your phone. There is a big place to walk and some benches are there to sit.

First we went to have a ride in the boat. They charge Rs.59 per adult. We went around the lake nearly for half an hour. We saw some ducks coming out of the water and getting inside.

The stairs that lead to the boat were quiet difficult to board due to the steep slope. When we asked for an alternative way, they said they were building proper stairs with steps and that is expected to be ready by January.

Then we went to the 3D show. Charges were Rs.30 for a 15 min show.

We are the only two when we watched the show and we sat in the front row. We waited nearly 10 to 15 min as they were waiting for others to join.

There is a walkway around the lake. Walking around it, we found a children's park which occupies a small place and has few games to play. In the wall there were some 3D paintings which looked like an aquarium and some cartoon images were also drawn over it.

We spent almost 4 hours there, and for the most part we enjoyed our visit. Some construction was going on when we went - they were building a globe-shaped building, perhaps for housing an aquarium.
